The story (and science) behind the program:

From athlete, to coach, to doctor, I spent decades preaching exercise as an end-all to stress and prescription for happiness.

Exercise carried me through my husband’s deployment, the birth of two children, cross-country moves and 99% of my graduate education.

It was there, at the pinnacle of my graduate studies, during the darkest year of my life that I realized… exercise was not enough. At least not in-and-of-itself. I could no longer run the stress away or lift heavy enough to release the tension.

So as scientists do, I returned to the research. Combining my findings with that of neurophysiology, psychology and motor development, I pieced together The 7 Pillars of Wellness; synergistic neurological components that have the greatest effect on our health and happiness. It is these components that comprise Fitness Therapy Program.

Will you sculpt the best body of your life? Absolutely. But that’s just the beginning. Exercise creates new brain cells which can be trained to create positive neuropathways… new habits. Habits that serve you mentally and physically. Habits that change not only your body, but your life. This is accomplished through compelling purpose and mindful attention and that my friends, is what you’re signing up for. Your physical change will merely reflect that warrior created from within.

Can you rewire your thought processes without exercise?  Sure.  Can you change your body without changing your mindset? Yes. But that’s not why you’re here, is it? Neurons that fire together, wire together. So let’s create a lasting codependency between your physical and cognitive health. Now, let’s get started…
